If directing a film is no easy task, the task might get ten times tougher while directing a movie with a hero as big as Thala Ajith in the lead. Ajith films are often made to satisfy his huge fan base, so huge that they alone can decide a movie's success or failure.
Gautham Menon being a bold filmmaker
that he is, wouldn't have found it easy to complete Yennai
Arindhaal without Ajith's cooperation and his firm stance
on letting the director know that he doesn't want any sequences to
be forced into the film just to make his fans happy.
"I have made a couple of bold moves in this film, which is in
the modern space. Even though we haven't shown anything happening
and it has been left to the audience's imagination." said Gautham
in a recent interview to a popular daily.
He has also revealed that those bold moves have been taken
despite warnings from many who suggested him that it might not go
well with a particular set of audience. But he assures that
Yennai Arindhaal was written for Ajith and that the film
will have at least five scenes which will be enjoyed by all Ajith
So will Yennai Arindhaal succeed because of its alleged
good content, despite perhaps disappointing a few Ajith fans? We
will have to wait for few more hours to know the answer. Looks like
Yennai Arindhaal will turn out to be a tester for all
Ajith fans. The last thing we want from good movies are a tweak in
the climax just to make a set of audience happy.
