Actor-producer Dhanush has clarified that he doesn't own the Tamil remake rights of Malayalam blockbuster Premam, which was rumoured to be in the process of being remade with actor Vijay Sethupathi.
According to reports, Dhanush was set to remake the film in
Tamil with Vijay Sethupathi under his home banner, Wunderbar Films.
In a chat with his fans on Twitter, Dhanush confirmed that he
doesn't own the remake rights of Premam.
It was also speculated that Hansika will play one of the female
leads in the Tamil version of the film. But since Dhanush has
confirmed that he will not be remaking this movie, it now remains
to be seen if the film gets a Tamil makeover.
Premam has Nivin Pauly, Madonna Sebastian, Sai Pallavi
and Anupama Parameswaran in the main roles. The film was directed
by Alphonse Putharen and received critical acclaim upon its release
apart from being a commercial success.
On the acting front, Dhanush will start working on his
yet-untitled Tamil project with director Durai Senthil Kumar next
week in Pollachi. He also awaits the release of Thanga
Magan, directed by Velraj.
