Income tax raids are back and this time around the sleuths from IT department have targeted the team of Puli as houses and offices of director Chimbu Deven, producer PT Selvakumar and Ilayathalapathy Vijay are being raided at the moment.
Just when we thought that the amazing pre-release business of Puli could've triggered the raid which seemed to have aimed at the Puli team alone, it was later assimilated that other celebrities like Kalaipuli S Thanu, Nayantara and Samantha are also under scanner.
While both residence and office of Kalaipuli S Thanu (producer and president of Producers Council) were raided, houses of Samantha, Shruti Haasan and Nayantara (Cochin residence) were also swooped on, according to a report.
The raid, which has come across as a surprise to many, was held in 30 locations across places like Chennai, Hyderabad, Cochin and Thiruvananthapuram.
Though it is not uncommon for IT department to raid the houses and offices of popular cinema stars, this particular incursion right before the release of Puli might include strategies that meets more than the eye.

Shruti Haasan too has opened up about her character. She has divulged that she plays a very feminine and gentle girl and that her character would be hero's love interest in the movie.
According to a report, the pre-release business of Puli (Tamil, Telugu and Hindi) has exceeded the 100 crore mark. It is also said that Puli is only the fourth Tamil movie to have achieved this rare feat after Enthiran, Lingaa and I.
It's 400 In AP/Nizam
It is said that the big budget movie will be releasing in more than 400 screens in the Andhra Pradesh and Nizam areas. These numbers for a Tamil movie is massive in the neighbouring states.
