Two time Oscar-winning music director AR Rahman will perform live in cities like Chennai and Coimbatore. 'Noise and Grains Entertainment' said that Rahman will perform in Chennai on January 16th and Coimbatore on January 23rd. "It will be a pure Tamil concert," they said in a statement.
It is said that Rahman performed in Delhi last Sunday (November 29th). Later this week, the world-class musician will be performing in Bengaluru too.
Rahman had also attended the closing ceremony of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. Serving as the chief guest at the event, the Enthiran composer called himself "a fan of world cinema" and encouraged film-makers to come up with more humanitarian films.
"Cinema theatres have become modern shrines of unity. I hope better things will happen and people come with great cinematic, humanitarian movies which will unite the world and also spread culture and make us understand the commonality of consciousness," Rahman said.
On movies front, the Mozart of Madras is currently working on Simbu's upcoming project, Achcham Enbathu Madamaiyada, being directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and Suriya's 24, directed by Vikram Kumar. He is also roped into Shankar-Rajinikanth's forthcoming flick, Enthiran 2.
