In its second week(6th July to 12th) the Kamal Haasan starrer has collected ₹3.15 crore from Chennai alone taking the overall gross to ₹4.5 crore in the capital city.
According to trade sources, the official remake of Drishyam saw good occupancy throughout its second week even in the most remote places of Tamil Nadu.
When it comes to suburban cities, Papanasam has collected ₹7.02 crore from its first 10 days. Its performance in its third week, which starts from today, will go a long way in determining its total box office collections as the movie will face two more competitors in Maari and Vaalu, starting July 17th.
In Australia, the movie had collected A$67,933 from its opening weekend and went on to amass A$28,920 in the next three days (July 6th to 8th). The collections in Australia now stands at A$96,853 which can be converted into ₹45.52 lakh, from its first 6 days.

In the second weekend of July, Baahubali took the first position at the Chennai box office by collecting ₹1.66 crore from 363 shows.
With a steady income of ₹84.85 lakh from 246 shows in its second weekend, Papanasam is doing well despite the Baahubali storm.
Looks like Chennaites have fallen in love with the dinosaurs. With a collection of ₹7.12 lakh from 45 shows, Jurassic World has taken the third position.
Indru Netru Naalai
Vishnu's Indru Netru Naalai too is performing well at the Chennai box office. In the second weekend of July, the sci-fi entertainer has collected ₹5.53 lakh, thereby holding on to its fourth position.
Arnold Schwarzenegger's flick suffered a great deal in the city of Chennai after Baahubali made its presence felt. Collecting just ₹2.95 lakh, the movie of robots might not live to fight yet another week in Chennai.
Future Tense For Papanasam?
Considering this week's releases and the way Baahubali is performing in Chennai, Papanasam may have a tough time, come next week. It has to be seen how the Kamal starrer holds up in the following week.
