We had reported on May 6th, that producer KE Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green had allegedly asked Pa Ranjith not to go ahead with the Rajinikanth project until he finishes his home production venture with Suriya in the lead.
Speaking to a leading daily, the famed producer has said, "It's true that we have an agreement with Ranjith to make two films for us. But since he's got this opportunity to direct Rajini sir's film, of course, we will not stand in his way".
Confirming that Ranjith can helm the films under his home production later, Gnanavel has said, "only after he completes that(Rajinikanth's) project, he will do the films under our banner, and we are fine with it".
Now that's a heroic gesture from Gnanavel Raja, also his concern towards the growth of an upcoming director is praiseworthy.
With the legal issue taken care off, Ranjith can now go ahead with the project of his life. An official confirmation from producer Kalaipuli S Thanu, who will bankroll this Rajinikanth starrer, is expected soon.
Though the information on cast and crew is not yet divulged, it is widely believed that Santhosh Narayanan will be roped in as the film's music composer.
It is to be noted that Rajinikanth will be playing an aged gangster and that the script of the film doesn't have scope to include a female lead.
Stay tuned for more updates regarding this project.
