Rajinikanth-Ranjith Project: Superstar To Play An Old Man?

Multiple sources indicate that Superstar Rajinikanth will be joining hands with director Pa Ranjith of Madras fame for a low budget quickie.

After facing heavy losses due to the Lingaa debacle, looks like Rajinikanth has decided to keep it simple in his next movie which would be allegedly helmed by Ranjith who is just two films old.

Touted to be a trilingual entertainer which would simultaneously release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, it is also said that Santhosh Narayanan will compose the music.

With Kalaipuli S Thanu set to bankroll the project, it is also claimed that the film will not have the usual Rajinikanth elements and that no adjustments will be made to the script to make it Rajinikanth friendly.

Interestingly, a few sources have also alleged that Rajinikanth might be seen playing a man of his age with no unnecessary make up and commercialism.

With Ranjith still not available for confirmation, sources close to the Enthiran star have said that the development is not yet confirmed and that an official news is awaited from Rajinikanth.

It is to be noted that Rajinikanth had congratulated Ranjith after watching the Karthi starrer Madras. It will be interesting to see what kind of subject Ranjith comes up with if this latest hearsay materializes.

With reports claiming that the shoot might actually begin from July, it will be an exciting and offbeat combination if Ranjith do gets an opportunity to direct Rajinikanth early in his career.
