Thala Ajith & Nayantara's Next: Tamil Remake Of Bhaskar The Rascal?
According to the latest buzz, a leading production company has bagged the remake rights of the Malayalam film Bhaskar The Rascal and will soon recreate the comedy flick in Tamil with Thala Ajith and Nayantara in the lead.
Yes you read it right; it is said that Nayantara, who will be retained from the original cast, will be paired opposite the Vedalam star in the Tamil version of the Mammootty starrer. Bhaskar The Rascal attracted mixed reviews among critics and fared moderately at the box office.
Siddique, who helmed the original, will be roped in to direct the Tamil version as well, according to a source close to the director. Siddique is no stranger to Tamil cinema as he has directed some superhit movies like Friends and Kaavalan in the past.
If this project takes shape, it will witness the first time collaboration of Thala Ajith with the famed director. Bhaskar The Rascal is a light-hearted comedy entertainer that has Mammootty, Nayantara and Baby Anikha of Yennai Arindhaal fame in important roles.
While it is widely believed that Ajith gave his nod after having fallen in love with the script, Nayantara is said to have signed a legal bond, which will ensure her participation in whichever language the movie is remade.
Kollywood will witness the Mankatha star in a breezy comic caper after a very long time, should this project take off. It is also the right time for Ajith to start experimenting on his scripts all over again, one might think.
Ajith, who is currently awaiting the release of his much anticipated Vedalam has not officially confirmed about his next film. Nayantara, on the other hand, is busy shooting for Thirunaal starring Jiiva and Kashmora starring Karthi. She is also awaiting the release of Idhu Namma Aalu.
