After
managing
to
secure
average
to
positive
reviews
from
fans
as
well
as
critics,
Dhanush's
Thanga
Magan
has
fared
rather
decently
at
the
box
office,
considering
the
recent
rains
that
shook
the
whole
of
Tamil
Nadu.
Though
box
office
collections
of
the
Velraj
directorial
from
its
first
three
days
(weekend)
isn't
as
impressive
as
expected,
the
movie
has
grossed
close
to
10
Crore
rupees,
which
is
still
a
fair
number.
According
to
reports,
Thanga
Magan
gathered
7
Crore
rupees
on
its
first
two
days
(Friday
and
Saturday).
Though
collections
on
the
third
day
is
not
yet
ascertained,
it
is
believed
to
have
amassed
3
Crore
rupees
(approx),
taking
its
overall
weekend
gross
to
10
Crores,
from
Tamil
Nadu
alone.
It
is
also
said
that
the
family
drama
is
doing
exceedingly
well
in
A
centres.
It
is
to
be
seen
if
Thanga
Magan
can
fare
better
in
B
and
C
centres
in
its
second
week.
However,
the
film
will
face
stiff
competition
from
Jayam
Ravi's
Bhooloham
and
Pasanga
2,
which
has
Suriya
playing
an
extended
cameo.
Both
the
movies
are
releasing
on
December
24th.
