Akshara Gowda, born as Harini Gowda in Bangalore, is a model turned actress, who has appeared in Tamil and Hindi films.
Starting her career as a model, she made her presence felt in several advertisements under leading brands, before opting to try her luck in cinema.
She made a special appearance in Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Thuppakki, and then went on to feature in a song sequence 'stylish Tamizhachi' in Thala Ajith's Arrambam, directed by Vishnuvardhan.
She also played a role in the festival film Chitkabrey - The Shades of Grey, before making her Hindi cinema debut with Priyadarshan's Rangrezz in 2013.
Akshara Gowda is also a state level throwball player and had an interest in table tennis as well. In April 2011, she was linked to Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh. However, she immediately denied it by calling it a mere media imagination.
Akshara Gowda is currently filming for producer CV Kumar's directorial debut Mayavan. She plays an actress in the sci-fi thriller, which will be made in Tamil and Telugu languages. The movie which stars Sundeep Kishan in the lead also has Lavanya Tripathi playing an important role.
"Although it's a cameo, Akshara plays an actress of superstar status in the film. It's an interesting role and her look is going to be very appealing," a source close to the project had revealed recently.
She will also be seen essaying the role of a police officer in Jayam Ravi's upcoming film Bogan.
"For the first time in my career, I will be playing a cop and will also get to indulge in an action sequence. I'm thrilled about it. I get to be the Angeline Jolie of 'Tomb Raider' in this role," the chassy actress had said.
