For many years now, Tamil moviegoers have dreamt of watching an Ajith Kumar-starrer coupled with the directorial skills of Shankar, one of Kollywood's most successful film-makers.
In fact, a few years ago, speculations indicating Shankar's idea of roping in Thala Ajith for Indian 2, were widespread. Unfortunately, that particular scoop remained a rumour.
Project To Commence Next Year?
Since both Shankar and Ajith are busy with their respective projects, the project, if materializes, will most likely commence by the end of next year.
AM Rathnam To Bankroll The Project?
Earlier, Shankar had said that he would love to direct a movie for producer AM Rathnam with Ajith in the lead. Looks like the time has finally arrived for Shankar to helm that particular film.
Meanwhile, over 65 percent of 2.o is said to have been shot already. Makers have hinted that the film is getting ready to hit the screens for Diwali 2017.
Magic On The Sets
In an attempt to reduce the workload during post production, the team of 2.o is taking care of the CG works right after filming each and every scene, it is said.
New Schedule At EVP World?
According to a report, the new shooting schedule of 2.o will begin at theEVP amusement park in the outskirts of Chennai. Huge sets are reportedly erected at the Chennai-Bangalore National Highway.
With every passing day, anticipation for the movie is rising constantly among fans and movie buffs. With Kabali achieving enormous feat at the box office, all eyes are now on Shankar's 2.o.
But now, a reliable source has hinted that Shankar might team up with the Mankatha star, after the completion of superstar Rajinikanth's 2.o.
What more, it is also said that the Anniyan film-maker has written a powerful action-oriented script and that talks are on to bring Ajith on board the project as Shankar feels the star actor would be an ideal choice to play the character designed by him.
Meanwhile, Ajith is currently shooting for Siva's upcoming film, which is being bankrolled by Sathya Jyothi Films. The movie also stars Kajal Aggarwal and Akshara Haasan in key roles.
Shankar, on the other hand, is busy filming India's costliest film ever made. 2.o a science-fiction thriller is being made at a lavish budget of 350 Crore rupees. It is being bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
