Was
Raadhika
Sarathkumar,
one
of
the
finest
actresses
Tamil
cinema
has
ever
seen,
insulted
by
the
makers
of
Vijay
Sethupathi's
Dharma
Durai,
which
had
her
playing
a
key
role?
That's
exactly
what
veteran
actor
and
politician
Sarathkumar
has
said,
much
to
the
surprise
of
many.
Producer's
Take
Speaking
to
Deccan
Chronicle,
producer
RK
Suresh
has
said
it
was
unintentional
and
that
he
didn't
mean
to
disrespect
the
veteran
actress.
"It
was
unintentional.
I
would
say
that
it
was
actually
a
technical
fault.
I
have
full
respect
for
Radhikaa
madam."
RK
Suresh's
Apology
"In
fact,
not
one
poster
I
released
during
promotion
was
without
madam's
(Raadhika)
picture.
If
it
hurt
her
or
Sarath
sir
in
any
way,
I
offer
my
sincere
apologies," Suresh
told
the
leading
daily.
Director's
Take
Director
Seenu
Ramasamy
too,
said
he
is
an
admirer
of
Raadhika's
acting
skills
and
that
the
placement
of
her
name
was
done inadvertently.
Seenu's
Admiration
For
Raadhika
"I
am
a
great
admirer
of
Radhikaa
madam's
acting
and
have
high
regards
for
her.
I
tried
roping
her
for
my
earlier
film
'Thenmerkku
Paruva
Kaattru'
for
which
I
waited
an
entire
year, Seenu
told
DC.
Director
Takes
Up
The
Responsibility
National
Award
recipient
Seenu
Ramasamy
has
taken
up
the responsibility
and
rightly
so. It
was
I
who
told
the
assistants
to
put
the
senior
actors'
names
together.
It
was
done
inadvertently,
without
any
hurtful
intent," he
has
said.
'Dharma
Durai' Doing
Well
At
The
Box
Office
Meanwhile, Dharma
Durai
is
said
to
be
doing
well
in
theatres
across
Tamil
Nadu.
It
was
reported
that
the
movie
had
collected
close
to
5.6
Crore
rupees
from
its
opening
weekend.
"Started
watching
'dharmadurai',
disappointing
to
see
a
senior
artist
Radika
being
insulted
in
the
tittle
card
hope
seniors
are
respected
(sic)," Sarathkumar
wrote
on
his
official
Twitter
page.
Apparently,
while
rolling
out
the
movie's
title
card,
Raadhika's
name
had
appeared
after
displaying
the
names
of
relatively
new
actors
and
actresses.
Dharma
Durai
had
an
ensemble
cast
of
Tamannaah
Bhatia,
Aishwarya
Rajesh
and
Shrusti
Dange
among
others.
While
Tamannaah
and
Aishwarya
played
lead
roles
along
with
Vijay
Sethupathi,
Raadhika
was
seen
playing
Vijay's
mother.
Though
disappointed
with
the
placement
of
his
wife's
name,
Sarathkumar
had
good
things
to
say
about
the
movie
as
a
whole.
"'Dharmadurai'
is
a
lovely
film,
a
must
see,
screen
play
narration
and
forward
thinking
emotional
film,
Radika,
Vijay,
Bhaskar,
Aishwarya
and
the
entire
crew,
music
score
and
the
director
superb
and
extraordinary.
Congrats
to
Producer
Suresh
for
selecting
the
script,
congrats," he
had
said.
