If
sources
are
anything
to
go
by,
the
plan
for
the
audio
launch
of
superstar
Rajinikanth's
Kabali
has
been
scrapped
and
the
music
will
now
directly
hit
the
stores
on
June
12.
"Rajinikanth
sir
is
holidaying
in
the
US
and
he
won't
be
present
in
the
country
around
the
time
of
the
launch.
Hence,
the
makers
decided
to
have
a
soft
launch
instead," a
source
from
the
film's
unit
told
IANS.
Santosh
Narayanan
has
composed
the
music
for
the
film,
which
has
been
directed
by
Pa
Ranjith
of
Attakathi
and
Madras
fame.
The
film
is
based
on
a
real-life
don
from
Chennai,
and
Rajinikanth's
character
is
modelled
after
him.
Also
starring
Radhika
Apte,
Kalaiyarasan
Harish,
Winston
Chao,
Dinesh,
Dhansikaa
and
Ritwika
in
prominent
roles,
the
film
is
produced
by
Kalaipuli
S
Thanu.
Reportedly,
the
much
awaited
movie,
originally
slated
for
July
1
release,
might
also
be
delayed
for
reasons
not
clearly
known
yet.
