Newly married couple Shanthanu & Keerthi are celebrating their first Tamil New Year post marriage. The occasion is more than special as they are also celebrating Vishu, a festival commemorated widely in Kerala.

Since Keerthi's family are from God's own country, the star couple celebrated both the festivals with zest. In an interview to Times of India, Shanthanu and Keerthi have revealed about their experience of celebrating 'Thala' Tamil New Year and 'Thala' Vishu together.

"We started our celebrations from from thala Onam, we have celebrated thala Deepavali, thala Pongal and now it's our thala Tamil New Year and Vishu. All these festivals have been very special to us, and it has helped us to know each other's families better, and understand each other's cultures." Shanthanu has said.

Watching Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Theri is also a part of their schedule. The Ammavin Kaipesi actor has said, "after celebrating Tamil New Year at our home with dad and mom, we are heading to Keerthi's place to have the sumptuous Vishu sadhya. Post lunch, we will be watching 'Theri'."

The actor, who is currently working on his upcoming film Mupparimaanam, is looking forward to start his career afresh by selecting new and refreshing scripts. He hopes this year would bring him success in his professional life as well.

"This year also marks a new beginning in my film career as I have couple of interesting projects lined up for release," he has said.

Keerthi on the other hand has divulged that Vishu is one of her favourite festivals, for it has always given her more than a reason to celebrate. She is also extremely happy that this year, she gets to celebrate both Tamil New Year and Vishu on the same day.

"We not only get blessings from the elders, but they give us money, too, in the form of vishukaineetam. As we are celebrating two festivals on the same day, we will be really busy meeting both our family members and friends," She has said.
