Reasons To Watch Upcoming Tamil Movies - 'Miruthan', 'Sethupathi' & 'Navarasa Thilagam'

Though multiple movies hitting the silver screen on the same day isn't exactly new in Kollywood, what's exciting about the movies releasing this Friday (Feb 19) is that the flicks lined up to entertain you, belong to different and exhilarating genres.

While Jayam Ravi's Miruthan is the first zombie film ever made in Tamil cinema, Vijay Sethupathi's Sethupathi will portray the talented actor in an all new avatar. Also, Sethupathi is Vijay's first full-length action movie.

And of course, Ma Ka Pa Anand's Navarasa Thilagam will also swoop into theatres this weekend. The film, which has Srushti Dange as its female lead, is directed by Kamran.

Miruthan

As mentioned earlier, Miruthan is the first zombie film ever made in Tamil and for obvious reasons, only a few might not be excited about this particular flick.

While a zombie movie has its limitations when it comes to the storyline, moviebuffs will be excited to see how the movie has been executed in terms of narration.

If a movie like Miruthan succeeds here in India, it may open doors for many such sci-fi thrillers, often seen only in Hollywood.

Sethupathi

Starring Vijay Sethupathi and Remya Nambeesan in the lead, Sethupathi is a story that revolves around the life of an upright cop.

Now, there is a reason why film-makers decide to dish out movies based on the life of a police officer every now and then. These flicks are high on action and can bring in family drama angle to it as well.

Police flicks also have a high percentage of hit rate as it offers something for everyone. When an actor like Vijay Sethupathi is roped in to play the lead in such a movie, moviegoers are surely in for a treat.

It will indeed be refreshing to see Vijay in a full-fledged action movie. As director Arun Kumar rightly said, this flick may place Vijay Sethupathi in the next league.

Navarasa Thilagam

Navarasa Thilagam is a comedy entertainer and may provide relief to those seeking a break from thrillers and family dramas.
