Santhanam's newly released horror-comedy Dhilluku Dhuddu has taken an impressive opening at the Tamil Nadu box office, joining an elite list of movies, released so far in the year 2016.
By collecting a whopping 3.77 Crore rupees from its opening day (Thursday) in Tamil Nadu, the Rambala directorial is now the fourth highest first day grosser of the year!
Dhilluku Dhuddu is only behind movies like Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Theri, Suriya's 24 and Sivakarthikeyan's Rajini Murugan.
"Producers, distributors and theater owners are extremely happy with public response to #DhillukuDhuddu! Thanks to @iamsanthanam & team!," Sri Thenandal Films, the company which has bankrolled the film posted on its official social media page.
Thenandal Films further went on to state, "This is our 2nd outing with @iamsanthanam after 'Kanna laddu thinna aasaya'! Never fails to WOW us! #DhillukuDhuddu."
Thanks to the movie's first day box office success, makers are now approaching the production house to buy the remake rights of the film, it is said.
If everything goes well, we may see the Hindi and Telugu versions of Dhilluku Dhuddu. Stay tuned for further updates.
