Santhanam's upcoming film Dhilluku Dhuddu is a spoof on horror films. The movie, directed by Rambala of 'Lollu Sabha' fame, has Shananya playing the female lead.
"In the last 12 months, Tamil cinema has seen over half a dozen
horror films. The makers of 'Dhilukku Dhuddu' didn't want to tread
on the same path and hence, decided to infuse the spoof angle in
the story," a source from the movie's unit has said.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, the Inimey Ippadithaan
actor has revealed about the movie and the character he plays in
"I play a character named Kumar, son of Anandraj and look after
my dad's shop that hires stunt materials. He (Kumar) is a
happy-go-lucky person, does not hesitate and always challenges
everyone. People who play cards use this colloquial term 'Dhillukku
Dhuddu', when they come to the last round of the game after
continuously losing money, my character is similar in
While Saurabh Shukla plays an important character, Shananya will
be seen playing his daughter.
"The story revolves around Kumar (me), and a North Indian
family. While Bollywood actor Saurabh Shukla plays a marwari
financier, Shanaya has been cast as his daughter, who plays a
student," Santhanam has said.
Thaman has been roped in to compose tunes for the film.
"He (Thaman) has composed wonderful numbers, and music will be a
big plus to the movie. In fact, for the first time, I will be
shaking a leg for a 'mass' number, titled 'Sivan Maganda'. Ashok
Raja, known for his tough dance steps is the choreographer for this
devotional number. I pulled it off after rigorous
Dhilluku Dhuddu will be releasing in mid-June. The team
had recently released the teaser of the film, which has been
received well by Santhanam fans.
