Awaiting
his
upcoming
release
Iraivi,
actor-director
SJ
Surya
seems
to
be
pumped
about
his
role
in
the
movie.
In
an
interview
to
Times
of
India,
the
Isai
film-maker
has
spoken
about
his
passion
and
why
Iraivi
is
an
important
film
to
him.
As
his
desire
was
to
become
an
actor
before
entering
the
land
of
cinema,
SJ
Surya
is
apparently
proud
that
a
director
like
Karthik
Subbaraj
offered
him
a
meaty
role.
Calling
him
"a
modern-day
Mani
Ratnam" because
of
the
way
he
thinks
about
cinema,
Surya
has
also
given
the
credit
for
restoring
the
confidence
in
the
actor
in
him.
Meanwhile,
the
director
in
SJ
Surya
is
all
set
to
return
with
a
bang
as
he
has
also
revealed
that
he
is
planning
to
revive
his
long
shelved
project,
titled
Ezhumalai
Chitra.
Calling
it
a
"very
beautiful
concept",
the
maverick
director
has
said
he
is
planning
to
direct
and
act
in
the
movie
and
that
if
everything
works
in
favour
of
him,
he
might
start
the
project
by
the
end
of
this
year.
