Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Theri, in its second week, has entered the profit zone in many overseas centres. The total overseas box office collections of the film from its first 11 days of theatrical run is said to be around a massive $6.25 Million, which amounts to 42 Crore rupees.
In North America alone, the Atlee directorial has managed to gross a whopping $1,110,533, which when converted to Indian rupees becomes 7.41 Crores.
In Europe too, the action entertainer has performed well, entering the profit zone in many locations. In the United Kingdom, Theri has reportedly amassed £376,489, in other words 3.64 Crore rupees.
In Australia, the Vijay-Samantha-Amy starrer has allegedly set a new benchmark for Tamil films as it has crossed the collections, superstar Rajinikanth's Enthiran had previously made.
By collecting A$377,617 (1.94 Crore rupees), Theri has created a new box office record for any Tamil film, it is said. It is also reported that the movie grossed close to A$11,291 on April 24 (Sunday) alone. The film, bankrolled by 'Kalaipuli' S Thanu, is all set to collect A$400K in the coming few days in Australia.
In Malaysia, a country where Tamil films usually perform well, Theri has grossed $276,660, which amounts to 1.84 Crore rupees, by the end of its second weekend.
The movie is said to have underperformed so far in Malaysia as it has been reportedly given a 18+ certificate in the country, which is keeping the family audiences away from cinema halls, screening the Tamil flick.
Having crossed the 100 Crore mark, Theri is well on its way to hand the Kaththi star, one of the biggest hits of his career so far.
By the end of its 11-day theatrical run, the total net of the movie in places like Chennai and Chengapet stands at, 8 Crores and 5 Crores respectively.
"#Theri 11 days Net (Approx) Apr 14 to 24, Chennai City - 8 Cr , Chengalpet- 5Cr , well done @SPIcinemas #KalaipuliThanu." Trade analyst Sridhar Pillai had posted.
