As
we
all
know,
Ilayathalapathy
Vijay
was
launched
into
the
Tamil
film
industry
by
his
film-maker
father
SA
Chandrasekhar.
But,
did
you
know
that
the
Kaththi
star
was
put
to
test
by
his
own
dad?
Yes,
when
Vijay
opened
up
to
his
father
about
his
acting
aspirations,
the
veteran
film-maker
was
reluctant
about
his
son's
decision.
Like
any
son,
Vijay
too,
had
the
backing
of
his
mother
and
hence
Chandrasekhar
finally
decided
to
offer
Vijay
a
role
in
his
film.
In
an
attempt
to
teach
the
then
young
Vijay
the
hardship
involved
in
acting,
the
Naan
Sigappu
Manithan
director
decided
to
make
his
son
act
in
an
emotional
scene
first
up.
In
the
scene,
Vijay
had
to
defend
his
mother
from
his
drunkard
father,
trying
to
assault
his
wife.
Vijay
also
had
to
utter
an
emotional
dialogue,
asking
his
father
to
stop
his
assaults
on
his
mother.
While
usually
these
type
of
scenes
will
require
the
acting
prowess
of
an
expert,
Vijay,
to
his
father's
astonishment
pulled
off
the
act
in
his
very
first
attempt.
SA
Chandrasekhar,
in
an
interview
had
admitted
that
he
knew
his
son
would
go
on
to
scale
great
heights
in
the
field
of
acting,
as
soon
as
he
witnessed
Vijay's
acting
skills
in
his
first
movie.
