Film-maker Jeeva Shankar, who has reunited with actor-composer Vijay Antony for upcoming Tamil thriller Yaman after the 2012 film Naan, says the project is a homecoming of sorts for him.
"It is indeed a homecoming for me, as I join Vijay after 'Naan'. His transformation during this period of time is astonishing," Jeeva said in a statement.
He said the script of Yaman was with him while he was working on Naan.
"I was contemplating the idea of making this film with some other hero back then. In this interim, Vijay had grown in leaps and bounds as an actor and as a hero too. Now, he fits the title role of 'Yaman' perfectly," he said.
Vijay will also double up as the music composer of the film, which also features Mia George in an important role. The film will be bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
Vijay Antony is also awaiting the release of his next, titled Pichaikkaran. The movie, which has Satna Titus as its female lead, is directed by Sasi of Roja Kootam and Poo fame.
