Raghava
Lawrence,
is
a
household
name
in
Tamil
Nadu
for
various
reasons
and
a
fairly
recognizable
personality
in
Telugu
states
as
well.
Lawrence
who
started
his
career
as
a
choreographer
later
turned
himself
into
a
director,
actor
and
a
philanthropist.
He
has
admirers
and
fans
for
his
dance,
directorial
movies
in
mass
genre
in
Telugu
and
horror-comedy
genre
movies
which
seldom
sees
himself
as
an
actor
and
director
in
both
Telugu
and
Tamil
languages.
His
humanitarian
nature
of
providing
food,
shelter
and
education
to
certain
number
of
kids
on
a
daily
basis
and
his
proactive
support
and
involvement
in
the
recent
'jallikattu'
protest
in
Tamil
Nadu
has
made
him
an
even
bigger
star
amongst
the
youth.
However,
it
was
not
a
bed
of
roses
for
the
Muni
hero
when
he
ventured
himself
into
the
industry,
and
it
was
these
two
Legends
of
Indian
cinema
who
were
influential
in
chiselling
out
a
beautiful
career
for
the
ace
choreographer-actor.
Back
in
1991,
a
young
lad
who
had
dancing
abilities
carried
out
odd
jobs
to
cater
his
daily
needs.
Being
a
car
assistant
to
Super
Subbarayan,
the
stunt
master
of
Tamil
cinema,
the
young
kid
had
fancy
dreams
of
making
it
big
in
the
cinema
industry.
During
a
film
shoot,
Super
Subbarayan
urged
Lawrence
to
show
his
expertise
in
dance
by
flexing
a
couple
of
moves
in
front
of
none
other
than
his
matinee
idol,
Superstar
Rajinikanth.
Post
the
performance,
Thalaiva
was
not
seen
uttering
a
word
or
expressing
appreciation
to
the
budding
talent
but
instead
walked
to
his
car
straight
away.
However,
knowing
Thalaiva,
he
just
did
not
walk
out
of
the
set,
but
asked
Lawrence
to
report
to
his
residence
the
next
day.
Rajinikanth's
secretary
handed
over
a
recommendation
letter
to
Lawrence
which
got
him
placed
comfortably
in
the
dance
union
which
was
being
managed
by
Prabhu
Deva.
This
opened
the
doors
for
Raghava
Lawrence
to
realize
his
dreams.
Our
Sivalinga
hero
made
use
of
the
provided
opportunity
to
its
maximum
extent.
He
knocked
the
doors
of
the
neighbouring
states
and
the
call
was
answered
by
none
other
than
Megastar
Chiranjeevi
who
is
known
as
the
synonym
of
dance.
Chiranjeevi
offered
him
with
an
opportunity
with
his
1997
blockbuster,
Hitler,
which
was
followed
by
his
subsequent
movie,
Master.
Pleased
with
his
work,
the
Megastar
of
Telugu
cinema
repeated
Lawrence
as
his
main
choreographer
till
almost
2007
and
it
was
Indra's
Veena
step
which
brought
in
a
lot
of
accolades
and
appreciation
to
the
star
choreographer.
Lawrence,
claimed
to
have
been
an
individual
choreographer
by
himself
by
1995-96
period
where
he
had
stated
that
blessings
from
Superstar
Rajinikanth
was
sought
before
he
ventured
out
as
a
dance
master.
One
can
even
spot
the
fan
boy
moment
of
Raghava
Lawrence
during
many
film
related
functions
where
the
star
is
seen
mentioning
his
Thalaivar's
name
on
a
frequent
basis
and
not
to
mention
his
small
cameo
with
the
Superstar
in
Baba's
'Maya
Maya'
song.
With
both
Superstar
and
Megastar
having
showered
abundantly
in
their
own
ways,
the
Tamil
and
Telugu
industries
have
been
blessed
with
this
multifaceted
personality.
