Veteran
politician
and
former
Tamil
Nadu
Chief
Minister
M
Karunanidhi
passed
away
today
(August
7,
2018),
much
to
the
shock
of
his
followers.
The
DMK
patriarch
was
admitted
to
a
noted
hospital
in
Chennai
a
few
days
after
his
health
showed
a
decline.
He
showed
signs
of
improvement
initially,
but
his
health
deteriorated
on
Monday
(August
6,
2018)
and
this
led
to
his
death.
Interestingly,
Karunanidhi
was
an
integral
part
of
the
Tamil
film
industry
as
well.
Before
entering
politics,
he
worked
as
a
scriptwriter
and
gave
the
Tamil
film
industry
some
of
its
most
memorable
films.
His
Parasakthi,
which
featured
Sivaji
Ganesan
in
the
lead,
is
regarded
as
one
of
the
most
controversial
films
of
its
times.
It
ran
into
trouble
with
a
certain
section
of
the
society
because
it
allegedly
showed
Brahmins
in
poor
light.
His
subsequent
films
too
dealt
with
sensitive
issues
such
as
widow
re-marriage
and
untouchability.
Not
surprisingly,
his
death
left
many
Kollywood
celebs
heartbroken
and
they
offered
their
condolences
to
his
family
members.
Thanking
Karunanidhi
for
helping
the
children
associated
with
his
trust,
Raghava
Lawrence
said
that
the
legend's
legacy
would
never
die.
He
also
offered
his
condolences
to
his
family.
