Ameer Slams Vimal For Avoiding Kulasamy Movie Audio Launch; Says 'Actors Should Be Responsible'

Director Aameer Sultan opined that "In an environment where films like 'Ponniyin Selvan' need promotion, Vimal, the hero of 'Kulasamy', should have attended the audio launch function."

'Kulasamy' starring Vimal and Tanya Hope, directed by Saravana Sakthi, who directed 'Billa Pandi' films, with dialogues written by Vijay Sethupathi. The audio and trailer launch of the film, which is slated to hit the screens on April 21, was held in Chennai.

Director and actor Aameer Sultan, who participated in the film, said, "Ponniyin Selvan has seen great actors together, starting with Aishwarya Rai. Besides Mani Ratnam, AR Rahman and Lyca, it was Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan who brought the music release of the film to the masses.

Now the second part of the film is coming. The actors are going for promotions. Looking at it that way, such a big film needs a big promotion. It cannot be said that it is right or wrong. The hero and heroine of the film 'Kulasamy' must have attended this event. But they don't. Actors need responsibility.

In 2003, I made the film 'Ram' myself and invested lakhs. The film won international awards. The film ran for only 3 days in Thondi. If someone trusts the hero named Vimal and invests money, then the hero also has a stake in it. It is not acceptable that I will just act and go away.

I am talking about what cinema is today. Today there is a need to promote the film. Today films will survive only on the first week collection. Such big actors come and fight for promotions themselves. Actors acting in small budget films need responsibility.

It is not acceptable for individuals, political parties or social organizations to ban a film after it has been censored. At the same time, comments from the film should be avoided if they cause confusion. Political awareness should be created through films. Apart from that, riots should not be created."
