Nayanthara, the female superstar of Kollywood is back on the big screen with her 75th film, Annapoorani-The Goddess Of Food. Written and directed by Nilesh Krishnaa, the movie was released with a low-key buzz despite having the potential to become one of the most remarkable films of the actress.

Annapoorani, which also features Jai in a key role hit the screens on December 1 with a limited release all over Tamil Nadu. But, many of her fans and movie lovers are disappointed with the makers for opting for a poor promotional campaign for the movie and bringing in at the same time with a much-hyped film Animal.

In addition, unlike Nayanthara's previous films, which were released in the two Telugu-states in dubbed versions, Annapoornani only limited its release and there wasn't a single show in Hyderabad, Telangana even in Tamil, which speaks of the film's unstrategic release plan.

Annapoorani Premise

Annapoorani is a food enthusiast and has had a penchant for cooking since she was a child. Sadly, she is brought up in a typical orthodox Brahmin household where thinking of eating meat is a horrendous crime. She eventually wants to become the best chef in the world and enrolls in a Hotel Management college unbeknownst to her family. One day all hell breaks loose. What happens next? forms the story.
