Jailer is the latest sensation in the country, especially in the south-India as superstar Rajinikanth's dark comedy action-drama is on a rampage at the box office worldwide. The movie became a global winner and pushed behind Ponniyin Selvan 1 and 2 in regard to numbers. Jailer is officially the highest-grosser in the Kollywood industry.

Written and directed by Nelson, Jailer features Rajinikanth as Muthuvel Pandian, a retired Jailer, who lives quite a simple life. After a very long time, Rajinikanth was shown in a refreshing role, which his fans and movie lovers are raving about.

Retired Jailer Muthuvel Pandian is a simple man who spends his leisure with his family and grandson. His son, ACP Arjun is on a mission to track down a dangerous smuggler Varman (Vinayakan).
