Mani Ratnam's magnum opus film's sequel, Ponniyin Selvan 2, was released all over the world in five languages on April 28. The movie, which stars an ensemble cast has opened to fantastic reviews and great openings. The positive reviews helped the movie get mileage.

In about a week, it is one month to the film's theatrical release but Vikram, Aishwarya, Jayam Ravi, and Karthi starrer continues to run successfully at the theatres, enthralling the crowds.

Ponniyin Selvan 2 Story

Based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's literary work by the same name, Ponniyin Selvan charts the journey of the Chola King Arunmozhi Varman, who later on was remembered as the Raja Raja Chola. The first part dealt with the introduction of the key characters and how Arunmozhi Varman is saved by a mysterious woman named 'Vooma Rani.'

The sequel will unfold events as Arunmozhi Varman continues on his journey to become the King; Nandini's plan to avenge Aditya Karikalan, the backstory of Vooma Rani, etc.
