Lal Salaam, the sports drama woven between two aspiring players belonging to Hindu and Muslim communities featuring superstar Rajinikanth, was released amid low-key buzz worldwide on February 9. The movie stars a plethora of actors under the direction of Aishwarya Rajinikanth.

The movie revolves around the friendships between Hindus and Muslims and despite a sloppy narration, the movie carries a good message. A few parts of the film, like the climax are said to have been conceived well.

Superstar Rajinikanth's Lal Salaam opened to disappointing buzz and openings. The film's digital streaming rights are reportedly secured by none other than OTT giant Netflix. There will be an official announcement shortly but for now, there is ambiguity about Lal Salaam's OTT release date.

This sports drama stars Rajinikanth as Moideen Bhai, Vishnu Vishal as Thirunavukarasu, Vikranth as Shamsuddin, Moideen's son, Jeevitha as Moideen sister, along with a heavy cast including Vignesh, Livingston, Senthil, KS Ravikumar, Thambi Ramaiah, Nirosha, Vivek Prasanna, Dhanya Balakrishna, Thangadurai , Poster Nandakumar, Adithya Menon, Pondy Ravi, and Amit Tiwari among others. Legendary Kapil Dev also appeared in a strong cameo.

Directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, the movie's story was written by Vishnu Rangasamy. The duo worked together on the film's screenplay. Subaskaran Allirajah funded the entire project under his Lyca Productions banner. AR Rahman composed the film's entire background score and music. B Pravin Baaskar and Vishnu Rangasamy worked as Lal Salaam's editor and cinematographer of the film. Red Giant Movies distributed this movie all over Tamil Nadu.
