in
the
headlines.
The
movie
stars
Vikram
in
the
titular
role
and

Pasupathy
and
Parvarthy
Thiruvothu
in

roles
among
others.
The
teaser
that
was
released
in
December
last
year
met
with
great
enthusiasm
and
cheer
from
fans.
Thangalaan's
shooting
is
in
the
last
leg
and
it
was
shot
in
Chennai,
Kadapa,
Madurai,
Maldives,
Kolar
Gold
Fields,
and
Bengaluru.
The
movie
marks
the
third
collaboration
of
musician
G.V
Prakash
Kumar
and
Vikram
after
Deiva
Thirumagal
and
Thaandavam.

Premise
The
movie
is
set
against
the
backdrop
of
British
rule
in
India
and
the
leader
of
a
tribe,
Thangalaan,
who
raises
against
the
British
to
safeguard
his
people
and
their
land,
which
has
gold
mines.

Release
Postponed
Thangalaan
was
initially
supposed
to
be
released
on
January
26
this
year.
However,
the
latest
update
about
Thangalaan
severely
disappointed
the
fans
of
this
versatile
actor
Vikram.
The
makers
officially
announced
the
postponement
of
Thangalaan's
theatrical
release.
They
moved
it
to
the
summer
of
2024,
in
April.

OTT
Rights
Sold
The
makers
of
this
Vikram-starrer
have
also
closed
the
digital
streaming
deal
with
Netflix
India
OTT.
After
the
movie's
theatrical
release,
Thangalaan
will
stream
on
Netflix
in
all
major
five
languages
on
the
country.
