Thiruvilayadal Aarambam stars Dhanush and Shreya. It is a love story which tries to narrate the hardships which befall a youth when he attempts to prove himself to the world and also find his love..

Dhanush wastes his time whiling away with his friends Karunas and Sukumar. Frustrated, his parents, Mouli and Saranya, send him away from home and ask him to come up in life on his own without their help. While out on his own, Dhanush meets Shriya and falls in love with her.

Shriya happens to be the sister of a very big businessman in town, Prakash Raj. Prakash Raj, like any other rich man, tries to separate the two. In the end, Prakash Raj sets a goal and deadline for Dhanush. How Dhanush manages to earn money and succeeds in his love is the rest of the story.

Though the movie's story sounds familiar, the screenplay is totally different and it is where the director of the movie, Boopathy Pandian has shown his skill and has succeeded in making the movie quite an interesting and enjoyable one to watch.

The song Ennamma Kannu from a Rajinikanth movie has been remixed and used effectively. D Imman has composed the music and the songs are worth listening to.

Direction : Boopathy Pandian
Music Director : D Imman
Cast : Dhanush, Shriya, Prakash Raj, Mouli, Saranya, Karunas and Sukumar.
