Pori - Review
Building a house, with savings from the hard earned money is what each and every middle class person desires. However, there are always a gang of imposters everywhere who deceive those innocent people and run away with the money. Director Subramania Siva has directed the film Pori on the subject with a "coating" of the usual cinema masala.

Jeeva is a young and energetic young man who lives with his father Nagesh. He is very naughty (something that is quite common with people of his age). His father Nagesh, a government scool teacher, buys a small shop with his retirement benefit amount and gifts it to his son. Jeeva, who starts a book shop at the location, comes to know that the place was illegally sold by a gang of tricksters not by the actual owner. He informs his father that he has been tricked into buying the shop from people who are not the real owners. With the help of friends played by Karunas&Master Ganesh, he nabs the culprits and hands them over to the police. In between, there is a usual formula of skirmish with Pooja which develops into a romantic relationship.

After trying different things in Raam, Dishyum and E, Jeeva has tried this type of movie making for the first time. No effort to make anything extraordinary of any sort. The Director introduced him as an ction hero in the beginning, so naturally Jeeva trying to keep-up the tempo unto the end. Almost all the fights make the veiwer tired except the one in the climax. Nagesh shows his incredible acting prowess the once again. Age may be the reason for a little shivering in his voice. On the other hand, his talent is as good as it was in his younger days in his previous classic hits.

Pooja has been given the same kind of role that was given to Chaaya Singh in 'Thiruda Thirudi'. She has played her role to perfection. Dandabani, plays the role of a Minister who iw wrongly involved in the case. He adds to the humour quotient in the film make. Film Director Seeman also appears in few scenes but doesn't make much of an impact. Delhi Ganesh's role and dialogues will bring a smile on the faces of the veiwers. All his scenes with Jeeva can crack you up like anything. Karunas, Master Ganesh, Cisor Manohar also there in the film playing smaller roles.

The photography in the film done by N.K. Egambaram has been done well. The music of the film composed by music composer Dina is just about average. It seems that while doing the re recording of the film soundtrack, he was just unable to control his creative juices in the right manner.

The major weakness of the film is that the average viewer can very easily predict the scene to follow. It seems that the director hasn't been able to get into his groove since his first hit Thiruda Thirudi. A fast song in the movie has been shot at Kolkonda Fort featuring Jeeva and Pooja bringing back memories of the remembering the old Mamadha Raasa. All the scenes in the movie have been shot in the same manner making the buildup to the climax very monotonous, boring&predictable. He has made they very TV serial like - a feature of the film that makes it "not-so-watchable". Apart from the climax, the overall quality of the film is very poor.
