Rating:
2.5/5
Action Star Vishal is making his second appearance in big screen in 2013 with Pattatu Yaanai. He had made his appearance in Samar early this year. The combo of actor Vishal and director Boopathy Pandian made Malaikottai in 2007.

Pattathu Yaanai deals with the story of youths who start a catering business. Vishal and Santhanam moves to Trichy and plan to start a hotel with their group, where they will be forced to meet the requirements of police on one side and a local goon on the other side.

This situation leads Vishal to lock horns with a city don. The pace of the movie is slow in the second half. It changes only with Sanathanam's comedy.

Film's first half is all about Vishal's conflicts with the local goon and his ability to tackle it forms the second half. The female lead Aishwarya Arjun, daughter of Action King Arjun Sarja, makes her debut with this movie.

Story

Vishal and Santhanam moves to Trichy along with their group and plans to start a hotel. They will be hurdled by police and local goon. And finally Vishal, tackle the situation in the second half.

Vishal's Performance

Vishal is perfect in his acts as a hero only in handling the situation. But he failed to prove Thimiru fame.

Aishwarya's Performance

Aishwarya Arjun, who is making her debut with this movie, has nothing much to do. She is just an acting doll. Aishwarya and Vishal's love scenes are like unnecessarily included in the movie.

Direction

Director Bhoopathy Pandian is back with his earlier action comedy themes with the movie. It seems, he has promised Vishal to take him to Trichy in all his movies. The duo's earlier movie Malaikottai was also shot in the same city.

Supporting Role

Santhanam, Jegan and John Vijay have supported the movie with their comedy acts. The movie is saved by Santhanam's comedy, especially in the second half.

Action And Stunts

The new Villain John Vijay tried to portray himself as a comic villain. Three fights in the movie composed by Anal Arasu have failed to prove Vishal as an action star.

Music

The music score by Thaman, is only for time being. None of the songs are attractive.

Verdict

With the current trend, Pattathu Yaanai can be included in the commercial entertainer list. The movie starts with Santhanam and ends with Santhanam. He has emerged as the movie saviour in every manner.
