Finally the time has come for the Vijay fans to see Ilayathalapathy rocking Mumbai underworld as Thalaivaa. The biggest and much anticipated movie of Vijay has been released today. By witnessing the first day response, it looks like the movie is expected to sweep the Box Office.
In 2012, Vijay was seen in Thuppakki as a tough cop from Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA), who will visit Mumbai, and he spoils the plan of a bomb blast. This time the same Ilayathalapathy is seen as a dancer, who later becomes Thalaivaa (a leader) for the sake of common people in Mumbai.
Vijay's cool dude get-up keeps the audience guessing about the movie and his image of a mass hero. Vijay has proved once again that he is a star and can do justice to all type of roles. The actor appear as an idol who lives for the common people around him. His 'Do or Die' attitude makes the movie an entertaining action thriller.
Director AL Vijay and Ilayathalapathy Vijay's combination has come out well. Thalaivaa, which is an action thriller will not only influence Vijay fans, but others too.

Initially, Vijay, who plays a dancer in the film, runs a dance school in Sydney, where he meets the female lead Amala Paul. The actress joins his dance school. Soon, the duo fall in love. Vijay's father Sathya Raj is worshipped by the common people in Mumbai. What makes Vijay to turn into a mass leader, forms the story of Thalaivaa.
The movie is a treat to the Vijay's fans. He will be seen in the character, which has two shades - the one as a mass leader and the other a dancer.
Amala Paul's Role
Amala Paul plays the love interest role of Vijay and she shares a good on-screen chemistry with him. The movie has a twist when her actual character is revealed.
Sathya Raj, who has played the role of Vijay's father in Thalaivaa, reminds us of Amitabh Bachchan from Sarkar. The shades of Sarkar character is everywhere to be seen.
The comedy slot is filled by Santhanam. He has maintained the humorous puns throughout the movie.
Abhimanyu Singh, who was last seen locking horns with Vijay in Velayudham, plays the role of a baddie again. He is not impressive this time.
AL Vijay knows what Illayathalapathy Vijay fans expect from him. The director has churned out a story that suits Vijay's image.
Cinematography And Music
Cinematographer Nirav Shah has done a brilliant job. GV Prakash Kumar's background score is good. Two songs are good from the movie.
Thalaivaa appears like an attempt to give Vijay a complete mass look again. His fans, who used to call him 'Thalapathy', will give him a promotion to 'Thalaivaa'. However, audience will have no clue why the movie is shot in Mumbai. Nonetheless, it is must watch for Vijay fans.
