Surprise

Audience would be surpised to see that Vanakkam Chennai doesn't boast much of comedy scenes and the romantic part is given importance when Shiva is playing the lead role!

Different Role For Shiva

Shiva will be seen in a different kind of role. His regular sarcastic or brashing will not be seen in Vanakkam Chennai.

Soft And Mature Role

Shiva has a soft and mature role in Vanakkam Chennai. But he is not at all convincing in romantic tracks.

Priya Anand is Brilliant

Priya Anand is brilliant in Vanakkam Chennai. However, Santhanam, on a rare note, doesn't get much marks.

Santhanam Wasted

In fact, Santhanam was not required for such role. Well, the biggest highlight of Vanakkam Chennai is music.

Anirudh Ravichander's Music

Anirudh Ravichander has composed good music for Vanakkam Chennai. At least, four tracks have topped the chart. And his background score is also wonderful.

Cinematography

Richard M Nathan's cinematography gets a special mention, and editing is good, though it could have been better.

Verdict

Director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi is almost successful in her debut movie. Though there are jerks, the movie has turned out to be an engaging affair.
