Darling
2
movie
review
is
here.
Starring
Kalaiyarasan,
Rameez
Raja,
Maya,
Kaali
Venkat,
Hari
and
Ramdoss
in
important
roles,
the
film
is
directed
by
debutant
Sathish
Chandrasekaran.
Thanks
to
its
title
and
pre-release
hype,
which
claimed
that
the
film
is
based
on
real
life
incidents
confronted
by
the
director
himself,
Darling
2
had
gathered
some
expectations
prior
to
its
release.
Has
it
delivered
what
it
initially
promised
to?

Darling
2
Plot:
Darling
2
has
a
plot
which
8
out
of
10
horror
flicks
usually
have.
In
this
case,
the
film
narrates
the
love
story
of
Ayesha,
played
by
Maya,
which
forms
the
flashback
portions.
What
happened
to
Ayesha's
love
and
how
does
it
concern
a
group
of
friends,
(played
by
Kalaiyarasan,
Kaali
Venkat,
Hari
and
Arjunan),
who
plan
a
fun-filled
trip
to
Valparai
forms
the
crux
of
the
story.
Performances:
Performance
wise
Darling
2
comes
across
as
a
disappointment,
just
because
of
the
fact
that
it
boasts
of
some
wonderful
performers
who
have
not
been
utilized
well
by
the
director.
Ramdoss
and
Kaali
Venkat
are
the
guys
who
have
attempted
to
evoke
laughter.
Their
attempt
goes
in
vain
and
that's
just
about
it.
Maya,
portraying
the
role
of
Ayesha,
looks
apt
for
the
role.
Having
said
that,
the
girl
needs
to
emote
well.
Technicalities:
The
only
bright
spot
comes
from
the
technical
department,
more
so
from
cinematography
and
background
score.
While
camerman
Vijay
Kartik
Kannan
has
used
interesting
angles
and
slick
visuals,
Radhan's
BGM
is
apt
for
a
horror-thriller,
adding
solidity
to
Darling
2.
Screenplay
though
is
slow
and
doesn't
fascinate
at
all.
Narration
too,
has
gone
for
a
toss,
giving
us
the
impression
that
director
may
not
have
invested
time
in
the
narration
aspect
of
the
movie.
Overall
View:
Darling
2
is
just
another
horror
film
which
neither
spooks
nor
entertains.
