Big Boss is watching you for 100 Days

Sony Entertainment unveiled its new big-ticket reality show Big Boss on November 3, 2006.This extremely reality show is an adapted version of the internationally acclaimed show- Big Brother and already started to take the nation by storm. Big Boss, the god-like entity takes you through the lives of 13 celebrities from different fields of life. He will show you the unseen sides of their life through this unscripted reality show. Big Boss is supposed to be an unadulterated drama with raw emotions and genuine laughter that will give you relief from the fake emotions, exaggerated drama, contrived storylines and typical plots in your daily soaps.

Big Boss has built a spacious house enough for 13 people in the outskirts of Mumbai.He forced Arshad Warsi to pick up 13 celebrities for the show by kidnapping Warsi's wife Maria Goretti. The captive celebrities will be detained from any tools of entertainment or means of communication. They cannot leave the show once the show starts. They will not have any privacy from morning till bedtime (except in bathrooms) as 30 cameras watch their movements. Each celebrity can enter the house only with one suitcase with the most necessary equipments for 100 days. There is no make-up artist or stylist to help them look their best on television. The celebrities will have to cook, clean, sweep the floor etc. without any help from maids, assistants and cooks etc. On top this all Big Boss will give the celebrities weekly and daily tasks through which they have to earn their weekly budget for food. If they fail at the task, they will have to live like paupers. There will be a confession room where each inmate will reveal his/her true feelings to the Big Boss.

Big Boss is inherently voyeuristic but Sandeep Sickand, Chief Creative Director, Sony, guarantees that it will be a family show and nothing that will hurt the sensibilities of the viewers will be shown. Every week each housemate will nominate two other housemates, apart from themselves for eviction. Big Boss will evict two housemates with the most number of nominations by a public vote. The last remaining celebrity is the winner who bags Rs 500000/-. Voting lines open and the viewers can vote to throw out the celebrity they hate the most from the Big Boss's house.

Now, who are these celebrities? They are sex symbol Rakhi Sawant, item girl Kashmira Shah, Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kissen, drag queen Bobby Darling, former heartthrob of the nation Rahul Roy, actress Anupama Verma, Ragini Shetty, Aryan Vaid, Amit Sadh, Roopali Ganguly, Deepak Parashar, and Salil.

Big Boss will have a 12-week run with telecast running through from Monday to Friday. Monday to Thursday episodes will show the regular drama and reality content for half an hour and on the one-hour shows on Fridays Big Boss will run the elimination episodes. Sony plans to give a big competition through Big Boss to other channels. The 10pm slot from Monday to Friday will give a tough competition to Star Plus' Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, and Zee TV's Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann.The 9pm. Slot of Big Boss on Friday will be confronting with Star Plus' Baa, Baho and Baby and Zee TV's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs'.

Arshad Warsi is genuinely happy to anchor this reality show. He has selected this offer from several offers to host a show/talk-show. He will appear in every Friday one-hour episode to talk to the person eliminated from the house. According to Mr Rajesh Kamat, Managing Director, Endemol-India, Big Boss will have the viewers addicted to the show. Now what are you waiting for? Big Boss awaits you for witnessing his pranks.
