Mumbai (UNI): Office Office, a television serial highlighting the functioning of government offices in a humourous way on SAB TV for several years, has now shifted to Star One with fresh episodes. In this new series, Naya Office Office shifts from its traditional, sarkari office environment to more contemporary situations. Tackling issues from rising fuel prices to problems with the civic body, from corruption to bribery in a comic way, the show will return as Naya Office Office and promises to be a rib tickling affair beginning from July 21 every Friday at 2030 hrs.
Moving away from traditional TV comedies, the Naya Office Office satire tackles the trials and tribulations faced by the common man. The principal characters of the show - Mussadilal, Mr Bhatia, Mr Pandey, Mr Shukla, Mrs Usha and Mr Patel bring alive the concept. The show revolves around these true to life characters and the problems they face - from rations to electricity bills and from insurance policies to telephone exchange highlighting the often illogical situations that one has to go through to get work done.
The original star cast of the show returns from Pankaj Kapoor, Manoj Pahawa and Hemant Pandey to Sanjay Mishra and Asavari Joshi. TV and film actor Vrijesh Hirjee joins the star cast essaying the role of Mr Patel, earlier played by Deven Bhojani. Announcing the launch of Naya Office Office, Ms Shailja Kejriwal, Senior Creative Director, Star India Pvt. Ltd. said, ''We are very pleased to have this hugely popular show on Star One. Our success with comedy continues and once again we have looked at fresh concepts that we believe will appeal to our viewers. In its previous avatar, the show has won many hearts and many accolades and we are confident of the continued success with Naya Office Office. Our march to the No.2 position will be strengthened with a show of this calibre.''
