In Kabhi Aiye Na Judai on Star Plus, she plays a typical docile and submissive Indian bahu. Now, Anchal Anand is all geared up to play a modern girl in a new serial, Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai...Khel Lakeeron Ka on Zee TV. She talks about her new role and other screen dreams.

How did you bag this role?
I have been part of so many shows in the past and each character had a different look. Hence, I had to take a small test to prove that my look suited this role.

Are there other serials that you are working on?
Yes, I'm also a part of Saathii Re, but I have told them that since I have got a lead role now, I would be dedicating more time to the latter.

Tell us about your character.
I play Siddhi, a traditional yet vivacious and vibrant girl who has returned from London. She loves and respects her elders. She believes in love marriage. But at the same time, she has made up her mind that she would not stay in a joint family.

How well do you identify with your character?
Why just me, every modern girl will identify with the character of Siddhi. I do not say 'don't be traditional'. But tell me which girl would like to get married and stay in a house where there are 25 other members?

Why do you think this show will work?
There are three stories in this one show. So it is something unique. The three lead characters are different from each other, so our show will cater to audiences of all age groups.

When did you start your career?
I did a bit of modeling first. Then I started out in television around three years back.

Looking forward to working in films?
No, I have taken a conscious decision regarding acting in films. At present, I want to concentrate on television but if anything good comes by, who would want to refuse?

How is your on screen chemistry with Sachin Shroff?
I have been paired with him in two previous serials. We share a pretty good rapport with each other and this makes the work easier. I think our pair works well on screen.

What do you look for while signing a role?
I check whether the character that I am playing is significant to the main storyline or not. Who knows, it may not turn out to be a lead role at all.
