Gaurav Chopra on Left Right Left
Thursday, May 17, 2007
A talented actor and popular face on television these days, Gaurav Chopra has already carved a niche for him in the industry. He has been around for quite sometime now and made his presence felt with Saara Akash, Lavanya, Piya Ka Ghar, Aisa Desh Hai Mera and others. As he is always trying out something different in terms of roles, he is now ready to play a music teacher in 'Left Right Left. Here Gaurav talks about his role and his plans for the future.
Tell
us
something
about
your
role
in
'Left
Right
Left'
In
the
serial,
I
am
playing
the
role
of
Captain
Abhimanyu
Raichauhan,
who
is
a
music
teacher
and
tries
to
form
a
band.
At
the
same
time,
he
is
also
a
secret
agent
who
tries
to
find
out
the
mystery
concerning
Navin
Singh
Alhuwalia,
but
to
keep
this
a
secret
he
is
given
a
look
that
differentiates
him
from
being
an
Army
officer.
He
has
long
hair
with
cool
clothes
on
and
his
behaviour
and
attitude
are
also
completely
chilled
out.
He
basically
gives
the
old
characters
a
new
freshness.
Normally,
it
happens
after
a
leap,
but
here
it
is
without
a
leap.
Even
Rajveer
aka
Rajeev
can
be
seen
having
more
fun,
as
Abhi
is
his
old
friend.
Can
we
expect
another
love
track?
Yes,
slowly,
but
surely
a
love
track
can
be
seen
between
Abhi
and
Naina
Singh
aka
Priyanka
Bassi.
Abhi
would
have
a
romantic
bearing
for
Naina.
How
difficult
and
special
is
this
role?
It
is
a
very
different
and
unique
role,
as
I
don't
think
any
one
has
played
this
kind
of
a
role
before
on
television.
I
had
a
special
entry
and
it
is
a
very
challenging
role,
as
it
is
so
spontaneous
with
a
variety
of
shades
to
portray.
I
love
this
role.
Did
you
have
to
do
any
homework
for
the
role?
Yes,
in
fact
a
lot
of
homework
had
to
be
done.
I
had
a
brief
discussion
with
the
producer,
director
and
then
we
have
zero
downed
to
42
points
that
I
have
to
follow
before
every
scene.
So
now,
before
a
scene,
I
have
to
think
what
to
do
and
what
not
to
do.
I
also
had
to
work
on
the
musical
instruments,
as
I
am
playing
a
music
teacher.
I
did
not
have
time
to
learn
them,
but
I
saw
performances
of
bands
and
musical
shows
to
learn
how
they
use
the
instruments.
I
also
had
to
work
a
lot
on
my
body
language,
as
the
character
is
very
chilled
and
funny.
How
do
you
maintain
your
physique?
See,
as
I
am
an
Army
Captain
and
as
I
have
a
scene
where
I
am
not
wearing
much
clothes,
I
have
to
maintain
my
body.
Therefore,
I
reach
home
at
10.30
p.m.
from
shooting
and
then
spend
time
in
the
gym
till
12-2
a.m.
Now,
that's
the
life
of
an
actor.
Apart
from
acting,
what
are
your
other
assignments?
Apart
from
acting,
I
will
be
seen
in
a
music
video
of
Meet
Brothers
with
Narayani
Shastri.
We
have
shot
it
in
Pondicherry
and
its
release
may
be
announced
by
May
25.
Does
Gaurav
resemble
Abhi?
If
I
say
that
then
I
would
reveal
myself.
Yes,
I
can
say
that
I
do
resemble
Abhi
about
60-70
percent,
but
in
every
character
I
played
so
far
there
was
at
least
one
percent
of
Gaurav
in
it.
