Sony
TV"s
Indian
version
of
'Dancing
with
the
stars"-
'Jhalak
Dikhhla
Jaa" has
been
publicized
as
being
bigger
and
better
this
season,
with
participants
from
various
fields.
The
line
up
is
interesting
in
a
way
but
what
bewilders
us
is
the
influence
of
Balaji
that
seems
to
be
running
really
high
in
the
second
season
of
the
show.
When
her
one
time
good
friend
and
colleague,
Sandip
Sickand
had
joined
Sony
last
August,
Balaji
Czarina
Ekta
Kapoor
had
allegedly
decided
not
to
do
any
show
for
Sony
for
almost
one
and
half
years.
But
as
luck
would
have
it,
Sickand"s
programming
skills
were
a
total
flop
and
Balaji
became
a
trump
card
for
Sony
even
before
that
set
period
got
over
Now
you
don"t
need
to
be
a
rocket
scientist
to
figure
out
how
as
many
as
three
Balaji
stars
find
place
in
'Jhalak
Dikhhla
Jaa"
in
its
latest
season-
Ronit
Roy(
countless
K
serials),
Jay
Bhanushali('Kayamath")
and
Ekta
Kapoor"s
new
blue
eyed
girl
after
Anita
Hassanandani,
Prachi
Desai
('Kasamh
Se").
To
top
it
all
there
is
Kapoor"s
dad
Jeetendra
who
is
out
of
his
semi-retirement
stage
and
is
in
the
esteemed
panel
of
judges
along
with
Urmila
Matondkar
and
Shiamak
Davar
replacing
the
more
exciting
line
up
of
last
year
-Sanjay
Leela
Bhansali,
Farah
Khan
who
enthralled
all
and
sundry
with
their
intelligent
comments
and
the
super
hot
Shilpa
Shetty.
Looks
like
bosses
at
Sony
TV
are
trying
no
end
to
impress
Ekta
Kapoor
who
is
reportedly
scheduled
to
make
five
shows
for
them.
In
the
telly
world,
it"s
not
a
hidden
fact
as
to
how
having
the
right
connections
and
the
right
influence
matter
a
great
deal.
The
Balaji
darlings
here
too
have
imbibed
these
qualities
pretty
well.
And
ahead
of
old
timer
Ronit
Roy
who
is
working
hard
on
his
dance
and
newcomer
Jay
Bhanushali,
Prachi
Desai
has
been
very
forthcoming
on
this
front.
She
is
supposedly
Bollywood
bound
and
has
already
made
all
the
right
moves
(now
she
not
being
movie
star
material
is
another
story
altogether).
In
a
short
period
of
time
the
smart
cookie
has
been
actually
able
to
find
a
powerful
God
mother
in
the
form
of
Ekta
Kapoor
who
is
working
for
the
betterment
of
her
career
and
giving
her
the
best
social
circle
to
mingle
in.
Her
antics
onscreen
on
the
show
have
not
been
helping
her
put
on
image
either.
Since
she
claims
to
be
a
19
year
old
(never
mind
the
fact
that
she
looks
29),
she
tries
very
hard
to
prove
the
same
with
a
whole
lot
of
outrageous
actions
(watch
the
rehearsal
footages
of
Prachi
where
she
is
seen
jumping
around
and
talking
in
irritating
childish
voices
something
which
even
actual
19
year
olds
don"t
indulge
in).Maybe
after
agreeing
to
play
an
elderly
character
on
'Kasamh
Se"
that
gave
her
all
the
name,
the
fame
and
the
much
wanted
dough,
she
wants
to
seriously
do
something
about
her
mature
looks
and
prove
to
the
world
how
young
she
really
is.
Some
one
should
tell
Prachi
that
people
only
keep
repeating
things
(like
the
way
she
mentions
her
age
countless
times)
which
they
want
don"t
really
believe
it,
which
they
are
trying
to
hide.
It
will
be
really
sad
if
because
of
that
Balaji
clout
or
by
managing
to
garner
sympathy
votes
(from
people
who
are
foolish
enough
to
believe),
someone
like
her
pips
more
deserving
candidates
like
Sandhya
Mridul
and
Mini
Mathur
to
the
top
spot.
Or
if
the
likes
of
the
classier
Tapur
Chatterjee,
Cyrus
Broacha
get
a
raw
deal
because
of
something
of
this
sort.
Also
would
be
unfair
for
ones
who
actually
deserve
the
sympathy
votes
for
their
exceptional
will
power,
the
kind
Mir
Ranjan
Negi
and
Sudha
Chandran
have
displayed.
Just
the
way
Sony
mascot
Mona
Singh
managed
to
finally
score
over
the
far
superior
dancer
Shveta
Salve
last
year
in
the
show.
It
would
be
really
good
if
fair
methods
are
applied
in
the
game
and
it
is
not
reduced
to
some
stupid
circus
of
petty
politics.
