Strong rumours of another daily soap going off air later this month are doing the rounds. This time it is 'Kumkum- Ek pyara sa bandhan', the Star Plus' afternoon show which has been running for more than five years now. Rumour is that the show is not getting enough TRPs. Hence the production house BAG Films and the channel has mutually agreed to shut down the show with a positive climax. Sources in the industry also say that even Juhi Parmar is not happy with her image being typecast as 'Kumkum', as she is always recognised by the character rather than as an actor.

Rubbishing the rumours, BAG films spokesperson Snehangshu Dasgupta says: "The channel is very much happy with the show's TRPs and we are shooting continuously and there are no plans to close the show even after the completion of 1000 episodes." He goes on to add, "In fact we are planning a celebration for the super success of the show."

Recently a leading daily carried a report on Hussain Kuajerwala sending feelers to Balaji for a comeback in 'Kahani....' as Chirag, a character he played years back in the same show. The article also said since 'Kumkum' might go off the air very soon as Hussain has started looking for another daily soap. Nothing official on this story either. But it has created trouble for yet another daily soap after 'Durgesh Nandini' and 'Jeete Hain Jiske Liye'.
