"I won't take up roles similar to Jassi again"
Tuesday, February 27, 2007
Q:
After
Jhalak
Dikhla
Jaa,
which
is
the
first
show
that
will
mark
your
return
to
television?
A:
It
is
Extreme
Makeover
which
is
going
to
go
on
air
this
April.
Q:
Is
your
contract
with
Sony
still
on?
A:
Yes,
for
one
more
year
I
am
an
exclusive
to
the
channel.
They
have
made
me
the
channel's
brand
ambassador
and
I
cannot
take
up
any
other
acting
assignment
on
some
other
channel
till
2008.
Q:
What
about
extreme
makeover?
A:
I
am
very
excited
about
it
as
it
is
one
of
a
kind
and
has
not
been
ever
on
Indian
television.
Q:
So
what
you
been
doing
after
Jhalak?
A:
I
have
been
doing
stage
shows
all
over
the
country
and
abroad.
It's
amazing
to
see
the
response
that
I
get
from
the
public
when
I
come
on
stage.
Q:
Tell
us
something
about
your
world
tour?
A:
I
am
leaving
for
France
in
a
couple
of
days
to
cover
a
carnival
happening
there,
for
Star
news.
Next
it's
New
York
where
I
will
be
hosting
a
Bollywood
awards
Programme.
After
that
there
are
a
few
more
stage
shows
where
I
am
going
to
perform.
Q:
You
have
been
doing
more
of
dancing
post
Jhalak.....But
what
about
acting?
A:
It's
because
I
am
yet
to
get
the
kind
of
offer
I
am
looking
for.
Though
I
have
read
a
few
television
scripts,
they
have
hardly
appealed
me.
But
there
is
this
show
which
may
be
finalized.
You
will
come
to
know
about
it
when
things
materialize.
Q:
What
kind
of
roles
would
u
like
to
do
after
Jassi?
A:
Anything
of
the
unusual
kind
but
definitely
not
similar
to
Jassi
again.
I
always
wanted
to
do
something
different
in
my
life.
I
am
open
to
saas-bahu
dramas
as
well
if
there
is
some
challenging
character
for
me
to
do.
Though
I
must
admit,
I
don't
like
watching
saas-bahu
shows.
Q:
Do
u
think
after
Jhalak....
you
are
able
to
get
out
of
the
image
of
Jassi?
A:
Why
should
I
want
that?
After
all
it's
the
character
that
made
me
what
I
am
today.
But
yes
as
I
already
said,
I
won't
take
up
any
role
like
Jassi
again.
I
am
here
to
make
my
mark
as
an
actor
and
that
is
only
possible
by
playing
different
characters.
Q:
Do
you
miss
Jassi?
A:
Not
Jassi
but
the
whole
show
and
the
team.
It
will
always
be
the
best
part
of
my
life.
Q:
You
have
been
seen
in
lot
of
page
3
parties
these
days?
A:
(Laughs)
I
go
only
to
such
parties
where
I
am
invited
respectfully.
It's
their
love
and
affection
for
me.
After
the
invite
they
call
me
up
personally
to
remind
me
about
the
time.
Now
you
tell
how
am
I
going
to
avoid
all
this?
Otherwise,
you
will
never
see
me
dancing
in
a
pub
or
a
disco.
Q:
What
about
the
rumours
of
you
and
your
boyfriend
getting
married?
A:
(Laughs
again)
Yesterday
only
through
a
newspaper
I
came
to
know
that
I
and
Karan
(her
boyfriend)
had
secretly
tied
the
knot.
Actually
these
are
those
kinds
of
news
which
remain
alive
only
for
a
day.
So,
I
really
don't
need
to
do
much
about
such
talks.
