Sachin Verma, Gunjan Walia engaged

Another telly couple has found out that they are made for each other. Actors Sachin Verma and Gunjan Walia had a surprise engagement within just four months of meeting each other.

Reveals an excited Sachin,"The engagement happened on the 8th of August in Delhi. It was a total family affair and everything happened in such a jiffy that we couldn't invite our friends from Mumbai. Since both of us are Punjabis, it was done in pure Punjabi style."

Fiance Gunjan Walia is equally excited. "Well, it was my father's b'day on 8th August. Sachin and I had met through common friends and after that kind of kept on bumping into each other. And then only after about 3 and half months of meeting we got engaged! The engagement was in fact, a surprise planned by our families."

"In spite of knowing her for such a short span of time, I realized that she is the girl for me. The feelings were mutual. Then we got each other introduced to our parents and from thereon things took its natural course. We got a 'roka' and then a proper engagement done. Usually this happens ten days before a marriage but the case is different as our wedding is most likely to happen in 2008 only," adds Sachin who has appeared in shows like 'KumKum', 'Reth', 'Pyar Ki Kashti Mein, 'Zoran' and the upcoming 'Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se' as the main lead.

In fact, because of the hurried engagement, Gunjan didn't even have enough time to arrange for her outfit. She says, "I couldn't get a designer outfit. Hence I wore a dress I had picked up in Seasons."

As of now the actress who has done shows like 'Kuch Apne Kuch Paraye' and 'Aisa Des Hai Mera' is enjoying this blissful phase in her life and also the fact that she has got a long break after years. "I was flying for Jet airways and acting happened to me accidentally. One show led to the other. 'Kuch Apne Kuch Paraye' had ended almost three months back and one can term this my longest beak," she informs

One memory that she holds close to her heart is the way Sachin proposed her. She says, "Sachin was planning something unique, different from the cliche way. He used to read up on articles of how to propose a girl and I even caught him doing that on his laptop. Once after a quiet dinner at a Chinese restaurant, he ordered for cookies and to my surprise I found a ring in one of them. Then I learnt how he had tried inserting the ring in a lot of cookies before finally succeeding with this one. It was such a touching gesture"

For this couple the romance has just begun. There is much more to look forward to in the days to come.
