Arundhati Arya Interview
Q.
How
has
been
the
experience
of
working
in
Sagar
Arts
'Jai
Maa
Durga'?
A.
It
has
been
a
wonderful
experience
to
be
a
part
of
this
show.
There
are
costumes,
heavy
jewellery,
but
I
love
the
experience.
Here
I
have
to
speak
pure
Hindi
which
is
a
trifle
difficult,
but
I
am
managing
it.
I
used
to
see
'Ramayan'
and
'Mahabharat'
when
I
was
a
kid
and
now
to
be
part
of
that
production
house
is
indeed
a
great
experience.
Q.
Is
playing
the
character
of
a
princess
a
special
feeling?
A.
Whether
it
is
a
princess
or
a
daasi,
I
consider
every
role
to
be
special.
As
an
actress,
approaching
any
role
is
very
challenging
and
you
have
to
work
hard
towards
it.
Also
working
in
a
good
production
house
is
a
good
feeling
and
I
am
doubly
happy
because
of
this.
Q.
Did
you
have
to
give
an
audition?
A.
Yes,
I
had
to
give
auditions
for
this
role.
There
were
4-5
rounds
of
auditions
and
then
I
was
selected
to
play
the
princess
in
this
show.
Q.
Are
there
any
other
shows
where
we
can
expect
to
see
you?
A.
No,
right
now
I
am
busy
with
this
show
and
will
like
to
concentrate
in
this
show.
But
If
I
get
a
chance
to
work
in
any
good
show,
I
will
like
to
do
that
too
along
with
this
weekly
show.
Q.
Which
other
projects
you
have
been
part
of?
A.
I
have
mostly
been
into
modeling.
I
did
many
ads
for
salwar
suits
and
also
several
ramp
shows.
At
the
same
time,
I
was
giving
auditions
for
serials.
Q.
What
is
your
educational
background?
A.
I
have
done
fashion
designing.
I
have
not
practiced
it
though,
but
it
has
developed
a
sense
of
making
right
choices
in
terms
of
clothes.
I
started
modeling
and
could
not
devote
my
time
as
a
designer.
Q.
Was
acting
a
planned
move
in
life
or
it
is
just
a
coincidence?
A.
I
never
thought
of
taking
up
acting
as
a
profession.
I
was
always
into
modeling
and
ramp
shows
even
in
my
school.
I
did
fashion
shows
even
in
my
home
town.
Q.
Have
you
done
any
acting
course
or
are
you
a
natural
actor?
A.
I
have
not
done
any
course,
but
I
used
to
watch
films,
some
of
them
many
times
to
learn
the
dialogues
and
observe
the
acting.
I
also
have
the
habit
of
watching
myself
in
the
front
of
the
mirror
,to
observe
myself
and
my
acting.
Q.
Is
doing
mythology
difficult
than
other
genres?
A.
I
think,
according
to
the
modern
terminology,
mythologies
are
the
in
thing
on
television
now.
And
it
is
not
difficult,
but
interesting
working
in
these
shows.
The
audiences
prefer
mythology
to
the
regular
shows,
as
they
offer
some
thing
new
to
the
audience.
Q.
Are
you
a
believer
of
Maa
Durga?
A.
Yes,
a
firm
believer.
