Moved by the children supported by an NGO headed by Mana Shetty, Ekta Kapoor is now planning a musical nite to raise funds for them. Ekta Kapoor might be a tough nut with Balaji TV stars, but for Mana Shetty and the children of her NGO, Save The Children, she proved to be a blessing.
Mana says, "Ekta and I have been talking about Save The Children for some time. She and Sunil share a fabulous equation apart from producing films together and she had told me that she wanted to help the foundation. I said that rather than just assisting financially, I would rather she come and see what the school was about."
One day Ekta just left one of her board meetings and came to the school. She spent the whole afternoon with the children. Mana adds, "She was so patient with them especially the mentally challenged kids. They kept asking her questions and fidgeting with her phone but not once did she get irritated or impatient. Ekta was moved to tears and bowled over by the children.
Sunil and she are planning to put together a musical extravaganza with singers to raise funds for the school. Ekta also made a big personal contribution to the school." Mana is very impressed with the soap queen. "Ekta is very down to earth. She is one of those people who want to give back to society and make a difference.
Everybody has it in them to give. When people want to send me cheques I tell them to first come and see the schools with all their different programs." Mana"s late mother Vipula Kadri was associated with Save The Children for 25 years.
