Manish Naggdev
Manish Naggdev, who became popular as Chintu in Dulhan, is all set to enter Star Plus' Santaan. This young actor is playing the similar character like that of Ajay Devgan in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Let"s check out what this young flick has to say about his new serial and a bit more

How is it to be in Santaan?
See, it's only two days now that I have joined Santaan and luckily I am with the same director and the production team with whom I worked in Dulhan. So, for me it's not a very big difference working in Santaan. It's like working for another channel only and the rest of the things are very chilled out, comfortable and cool. Moreover, I am very much happy with the role I am playing now.

What character do you play?
It is a very interesting character and I am very much enjoying playing this role. My character is that of a very executive, genuine, descent guy working in Kartik's office, who is lead actress Suhana's (Daljit Kaur) brother. I get married to Suhana, who is actually in love with another guy. Later, I come to know about her love and try to reunite them. It is more or less like the character of Ajay Devgan in the film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. The character is very manly and is matured in heart and mind.

It has been heard that previously your character was named as Nishabd, so why was it changed later?
Yeah, you are right. At first the name of my character was Nishabad but it got changed as our creative team thought that Nishabd would remind viewers about Jiah Khan and decided to change the name to Niyam.

Are you excited about it?
Right now I am very much excited because I am working with the same production house I worked with before and the best part is they have given me a very different look this time. While working in Dulhaan I was a very bhola bhala kind of a guy wearing very cheap rated clothes, but now I am wearing nice clothes with good shirts, trousers, tie, suits and everything. So there is a very big difference between Chintu in Dulhan and Niyam in Santaan. Let"s hope everything goes well now.

What type of roles excites you most, positive or negative?
To be very frank I like playing negative roles. I think I am better in negative roles but audiences like me in positive ones, so I don't know what to do. Whenever I get a chance to do a negative role, I don't leave it as I think there are lot of things to play in it.

Most of the shows aired recently have more or less same kind of story content...
I really don't know as I am only an actor who just sees what kind of role is being offered and I keep in mind only that I don't repeat roles. I don't want to be image stuck. I work for myself and my satisfaction.

What do you think of reality shows on television?
I think they are amazing. But as everyone is coming out with it now-a-days, soon people will get bored of it. The day is not far when people won't respect dancers and singers also.

Can we expect you to be seen in any reality show?
Oh! I would love to do one. I am a good dancer, so let"s see if something nice and better come to me. I will definitely accept it.

Are you interested working in films or you want to stick to television?
As of now I am working in a serial. But I will definitely take up films in the future. I am just 23 now so I will take two years to get groomed as an actor and then will take a step towards movies.

What other projects you are working in?
Right now I am just working in Santaan and shooting for Shh Koi Hai.
