Sony's Tujko Hai Salaam Zindgi to goes off air

Sony, in a bid to go beyond the conventional, did start with a serial with the backdrop of a police academy, but the end result is for all to see now! The serial Tujko Hai Salaam Zindgi, depicting the life of a woman aiming to be a police officer, spread its wings just two months back, and now finds itself stripped off its wings, even before it took off. Well, when one talks of serials based on police officers, the one serial that comes to mind is the very successful Udaan on Doordarshan, which has become a milestone that is tough to be emulated.

Sanjay Upadhyay, VP, Development and Programming, confirms this and states, "Yes, we are going off air with Salaam Zindgi. This serial had similarities with Udaan, but we tried our best to re-construct it in a different way. Even after trying various options, the show did not get any response from the public, and so we decided to take it off air".

Sanjay Wadhwa, the producer of the show says, "There was only one similarity between the two serials, and it was that the story line revolved around a lady inspector. Whatever it was, the show has not been accepted by the public and it is now being called off". Well, this is the result of serving 'Old wine in a new bottle'!!
