MTV VJ Nikhil Chinnapa has come out in defence of Roadie Tamanna after a Mumbai based tabloid reported of her featuring in a sex video. Nikhil said that he was appalled read the story on Tamanna could not believe that one of the country's premier tabloid would sink to such shoddy tabloidism to increase the sales of its paper. Nikhil said although he never met Tamanna in person he knew her through MTV Roadies Hell Down Under show like the rest of the country.

Nikhil questioned the authenticity of the video and stressed that the girl in the video bears no resemblance to Tamanna. He attested his argument by saying that the pendent that is shown in the video is not the same as the one worn by Tamanna on the show as the one is an 'Om' where as the other is a 'Crucifix'. Nikhil concluded by saying that the report has damaged the innocent girl's reputation and has caused pain to her family and friends.
