This Aamir Khan starrer film has achieved a staggering 10.88 TVR in the Hindi speaking market.
3 Idiots on Sony rated 10.9 TVR over 4.2 hours. This is the highest rating for any movie on a Hindi language channel since 2002. It reached out to 39.1 million viewers and had an average time spent of 90.4 minutes. It garnered a total of 92 GRPs for the channel. This week, Hindi GEC grew by 8%. All other channels including news, regional etc grew by 3% only. The growth of Hindi GEC can solely be attributed to Sony.
Shahrukh Khan"s My Name is Khan that premiered on rival Star Plus a week before, could only muster a TVR of 2.14. In the latest Tam rating week 31 (25-31 July), Sony (270 GRPs) has zoomed ahead of Zee TV (227) to grab the third spot. While Zee hasn"t lost or gained any new GRP this week, Sony has jumped from 162 to 270 this week.
Star Plus yet again regained its supremacy over Colors by clocking 365 GRPs, a good 42 GRPs increase from the last week. The Anandi mania lasted for few days, as Colors dropped 23 GRPs to draw 289 marks this week. Zee TV"s 'Pavitra Rishta" regained the top spot with a peak TVR of 5.71. 'Balika" is the second best rated show with 5.42 TVR.
