Superstitious ekta kapoor locks herself

On 15 Jan, TV czarina won't eat or drink for six hours and will lock herself up in a room chanting mantras. ekta kapoor is every bit the spirituality geek she comes across to be. Today, during the partial solar eclipse (11.25 am to 3.15 pm), the TV czarina won't be seen floating in a jacuzzi as she had the last time there was an eclipse -- but will lock herself up in her bedroom for six hours chanting.

Says a source close to Ekta, "Though it's a partial solar eclipse, it's a very powerful one and Ekta won't be stepping out of her home this time till the eclipse gets over by three. In fact, thought it starts at 11.25 am, Ekta feels it's better to start a couple of hours ahead. It's a good grahan and is supposed to clean up all the bad events that is happening in the world today.

Ekta won't be touching a drop of water or eating a morsel of food during the entire time of grahan as everything that lights casts its rays on gets polluted during this time. You are not supposed to swallow anything during the eclipse to show your loyalty to the Sun God as he's getting swallowed himself."

Adds the source, "After the jacuzzi last year, her plans have changed for this year. This year she's decided keep the negative energy away by locking herself in her bedroom and chanting mantras. Chanting mantras during a solar eclipse is said to be 1000 times more effective than normal days.

It's a long grahan lasting over hours but sound energy is more powerful than light energy so Ekta will spend that time chanting hymns in her room. During this time all the Gods are supposed to be covered too (as light shouldn't come on them too)."
